Central Presbyterian Church a caring, inquiring, inclusive community
The Central
Idea: Central Presbyterian
Church is a member of the Cascades
Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA)
and a Covenant Network
Congregation. We are an active
community of nearly 350 faithful members and friends of all ages. We learn
about and live out our faith in Jesus Christ in
many
ways. Central supports the Presbyterian campus
ministry at Koinonia Center and
welcomes students and faculty. Through our mission and
outreach we help the poor, the homeless, and the vulnerable in our community
and abroad. Join with us as we learn and work in our community. We have
worshipped in Eugene as a Presbyterian congregation since 1855. Our mission statement
reflects our theology and vision of this community of faith.
Central Presbyterian Church is in the West University neighborhood of Eugene at the corner of 15th and Patterson. At 9:15 am we have a short prayer and praise service in our parlor. At 10:00 we worship God together in our Sanctuary while the children attend a Children’s Sunday School. Following worship members are invited to participate in adult education classes. On the first Sunday of each month, we join in a potluck brunch in Fellowship Hall. See the Education link for a current listing of adult class topics.
We normally celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month. Supervised nursery care with paid staff is provided during worship for infants through second grade and through kindergarten age during the education hour. Assisted hearing devices, large print hymnals, Bibles and programs and wheelchairs are also available for use. There are handicap parking spots in the alley between Ferry and Patterson. Newcomers can get a packet with information on our church and its programs. We invite all who attend our service to join us for coffee and a chance to experience the remarkable friendliness for which Central is known.
